Biography of Plein Air Painter Nancy Seruto

Nancy Seruto paints the dramatic beauty of the California landscape 'en pleinair': on location directly from observation.  She balances her demanding career as a Creative Producer working in the theme park and museum industries, with her deep passion for painting in nature.

Starting her career as a scenic artist, set and lighting designer for the stage, Nancy has now combined her love of landscape, light and paint, with painting 'en plein air'. She has held a one woman show at the San Gabriel Fine Arts Gallery and most recently in Pasadena at Lovebirds, was awarded the Renaissance Award at the Eaglerock Renaissance of Plein Air festival, and "A Garden's Lagoon" was selected from over 100 entries for auction at the Los Angeles Botanic Garden.

Nancy has studied with P.A.P.A. artists Skip Whitcomb, Karl Dempwolf, John Budicin and  Betty Billups , and the outstanding work of this group of artists continues to inspire her. She has studied figure painting with David Luce at the Art Center Pasadena, as well as illustration and backdrop painting with Herb Camburn and Judy Allen at Cal State Long Beach.

She will be mounting a show of her recent works in the Spring of 2015, and will be available for purchase at that time. The location and date to be announced on this website.
